This is the first group from KSL’s series of 8 MHFA training courses in London and regionally for the Royal British Legion’s welfare staff. The picture includes our trainer Nick Coulter. This followed on from KSL’s delivery of adult MHFA training for the Football Foundation and The Grenadier Guards.
Youth MHFA Course

A campaign featuring urban music scene members is reaching out to young men from London considering suicide. Billboard adverts by charity Campaign Against Living Miserably are being put up across the city.

KSL’s training instructor Beckie Davies is pictured below with our first cohort of Youth MHFA trainees commissioned by Peterborough YMCA for its staff and local partners.

Poppy Jaman (Director MHFA England), Russell Sauntry (Head of College Chaucer Technology School), Yasmin Ishaq (Team Manager KMPT EIP Service) and Nick Coulter (Director KSL), speak in Canterbury with schools, colleges and partners, to launch the youth programme and kitemarking pilot in Kent.

KSL has delivered 2 Youth MHFA courses in London for the NCB (National Children’s Bureau) to help them achieve their objective of supporting voluntary organisations in the children’s services sector nationally. The picture of our first cohort is below.

A record number of new legal highs were identified last year. Government scientific advisers told BBC Newsbeat that more than 41 new substances were detected across Europe in 2011, many bought on the internet from China.
Should people have two days a week completely clear of alcohol? This is one recommendation from a Commons Science and Technology Committee Report calling for a review of all government alcohol guidelines in the UK.
