<p class="style1">A record number of new legal highs were identified last year. Government scientific advisers told <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/16866929" title="Link to BBC Newsbeat report">BBC Newsbeat</a> that more than 41 new substances were detected across Europe in 2011, many bought on the internet from China.</p>
<p class="style1">Should people have two days a week completely clear of alcohol? This is one recommendation from a <a href="http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201012/cmselect/cmsctech/1536/153602.htm" title="Link to House of Commons Committee Report">Commons Science and Technology Committee Report</a> calling for a review of all government alcohol guidelines in the UK.</p>
<p class="style1">In an open letter, 35 liver specialists from the North East have called for people to join a campaign to prevent alcohol advertising aimed at young people. Click on the picture to see their online campaign video.</p>
