Food for Mood

The decline in cooking and food growing has eroded important life skills and contributed to an urban culture based on fast food and microwave dinners. As a response to these problems of the current food economy and culture, people are becoming actively interested in different aspects of healthy and sustainable food economies. KSL already has a passion for mental health improvement for healthier and happier lives. This creates an opportunity for us to raise awareness of the benefits of sustainable food AND positive mental health and wellbeing.

Food for Mood is a project to demonstrate and document how eating more organic, vegan, vegetarian, natural, fairtrade and sustainable food, in its various forms, can result in positive mental health and wellbeing, and not just the reduction of illnesses. Its purpose is to help:

  • Improve its participants’ own relationships with food
  • Give psychological support for healthy, active lifestyles
  • Enhance the mental wellbeing of the busy urban workforce

Food For Mood will start with one or more regional events in 2012-13:
