KSL is looking for commercial and charitable sponsorship for our Food for Mood project with events in London 2012 exploring the links between diet and mental health. KSL has developed a new training course DAAFA (Drugs and Alcohol First Aid), in partnership with Tonic, being piloted with Royal British Legion, to be offered in England and Wales from March 2012. Kevin is updating his Patient Politics article for the NHS Alliance on joint working between the newly recast Clinical Commissioning Groups and Local Authorities. Following our successful pilot supported by LiveNation UK at the Download Festival in June 2011, we are stepping up the Wellness Tent festival plan for 2012, to engage many more young people in understanding mental health issues and reducing the sigma involved. We are currently speaking with potential partners/funders to support the extra management required. We are increasing our project support capacity for councils and NHS bodies that are producing local Health and Wellbeing Strategies and Boards, and our MD is liaising with key people in the NHS Alliance and local government family via the new LGID to explore how local councils and the new CCGs will jointly commission services. Building on our Partyarts events project experience, KSL is developing new models and funding sources for councils to use to celebrate and reinforce the achievements of looked after young people, e.g. though creative exploration of heritage: Roots2Achievement. KSL is still helping to rollout the Youth Mental Health First Aid training programme for children and young people's service organisations. We are organising open seminars for schools and local support agencies in more regions of England in 2012.
